To Joe Lycett. An amazing… hilarious… clever human being. That’s what you are.
You’re a comedian, so I kind of had to say hilarious. Would have been a bit awks if I didn’t. But it is meant from the heart! I promise….
This is my message to say thank you, and yours, in solidarity, comrade.
You wear your sexuality on your sleeve, and you show that we’re like everyone else. We can have a laugh and a joke. We can be flamboyant and excessive. We can be outraged. We have a standard conversion. We’re just human beings trying to live our lives.
I love how you use comedy to get across important messages. You don’t bore everyone to death with lengthy language no one resonates with. You make us laugh. It’s clever, and it works.
Now my finishing point. I don’t always feel represented as a gay man. That may be a surprise… There’s a lot more on our screens now than there used to be. But I feel you represent me. You provide me with positive representation on screen, as well as on the Twitter feeds of over 1 million loyal followers.
Thank you Joe.
