Never in the history of Shape History have we been more excited not to hire someone. Instead of recruiting one brilliant creative human to join the team forever, we’re bringing in three super experienced storytellers in a temporary capacity as we proudly launch our Creative Residency.
Our agency is expanding and the way we work is changing. We like to do things differently at Shape, so adding more creative heft to the team felt like an opportunity to be a bit more, well, creative.
Our Creative Residency will see three established juggernauts joining the Shape History team in rotation each year. Each one will be a specialist from the copywriter, art director, UI/UX field (to name a few) and will bolster our Creative Studio currently comprising 12 terrifyingly talented individuals.
Each Creative in Residence will focus on mentorship, upskilling, disrupting and inspiring fresh creative perspectives. The hope is that the residency will help elevate Shape’s creative storytelling to infinity and beyond, thus elevating the work we do for partners.
At Shape History we’re committed to recruitment of women and those from racialised groups who are significantly underrepresented in the creative industries. While our current Creative Studio team are 50% women and 58% identify as being from a racialized group, there is always more we can do – especially when it comes to representation in leadership roles. Here the Creative Residency aims to push us further, by not only creating space for one single leadership role, but three every year.
This paid opportunity is available for anyone with specialist creative experience who’d be happy to join us in the Shape History office once a week (an office with sometimes questionable music but a very respectable bowl of fruit). If you’re keen, please reach out to lauren@shapehistory.com.
